Meet Octavia Fuller, USAble Life’s Inclusion Council Co-chair

This past fall Jim Casey announced the launch of our inaugural Inclusion Council. Over the next few months, we will spotlight each council member, introducing you to their reasons why they have a passion for diversity and inclusion.

Recently, we spent some time with council co-chair Octavia Fuller and learned why recognizing Black History Month is such a critical piece to our overall inclusion efforts. With a Bachelor of Arts in History and over a decade of service to USAble Life, Octavia believes understanding historical context is the first step in developing programs that look at issues impacting underrepresented groups.

Octavia said, “At USAble Life, our commitment to diversity and inclusion means a commitment to building a culture of diverse talent where innovation through collaboration drives solutions for our customers, strengthens our communities, and contributes to the development of tomorrow’s talent. We believe that by harnessing the uniqueness of every experience, at every level, we create a shared vision of our future that is more than strong – it’s powerful.”

Octavia’s passion for diversity and inclusion runs much deeper than enhancing the work culture. As a mother, she is dedicated to creating an inclusive future where her daughters are accepted and encouraged to celebrate their diversity. She is a firm believer that “what makes us different is what makes us stronger.”
